Careers Students and Graduates
Students and graduates are the future of our company. We actively recruit them from a wide range of academic fields. After all, our company is only as strong as our people.
We know that our future is based on attracting top talent, especially new engineers. We recruit, hire, and train them whenever we can.
dck worldwide staff members attend approximately 15 public and private college recruiting fairs across the country to meet potential candidates for the EDP and summer internship and co-op opportunities. The types of degrees we typically recruit for are Engineering (Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical), Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Information Technology and Accounting.
Engineer Development Program (EDP)
The program consists of a two-year rotation through these various functions. Each participant in the EDP is assigned a mentor — a person within dck who can counsel and assist him/her during and after the Program. Throughout the rotation, the EDP Engineer is assigned to various project sites, ensuring hands-on exposure to various types of project delivery methods and career paths. The goal of the program is to educate and expose EDP Engineers in the various functions of a full-service construction organization, providing them with valuable hands-on work experience and helping them to begin to develop particular areas of interest or career paths.
Partnership with Colleges and Universities
We work with colleges and universities to meet their Internship and Co-Op program requirements, giving students the opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience while qualifying for credits at the same time.
After all, it’s not just an educational experience, it’s an investment for the future.
Our Engineer Development Program (EDP) is designed to provide graduated engineers with an orientation to critical functions through sequential assignments of defined durations and/or exposure to the following areas:
- Preconstruction Services
- Contract Administration
- Business Development
- Job Cost
- Project Engineering
- Risk Management
- Facilities Management
- LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design)
