Cap Juluca Properties, Ltd.
Anguilla, British West Indies
Even a hurricane can’t stop our efficiency. On October 16, 2008, in the middle of a $15 million renovation, the Cap Juluca Resort was struck by Hurricane Omar, resulting in extensive damage to the existing complex and major erosion of the resort’s signature beach. We worked closely with the owner and insurance agencies to quickly assess the damages and establish an immediate renovation/repair plan in record time. The repairs included major cleanup, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and tele-data systems, landscaping and irrigation (including lighting and decorative pond reconstruction) and complete beach reconstruction (which included the excavation and importing of 30,000 cubic yards of sand from the island of Barbuda.) New construction and renovation included the resort’s two 5-star restaurants, the Main House, model mock-up villa, beach-side pool, gym and spa. All construction was completed in four months, including rework and major repair work due to the hurricane.
dck was a sheer pleasure to deal with – skillful, strategic, competent, smart, dedicated, flexible, communicative, and affable. dck has earned a permanent spot in the ongoing construction efforts at Cap Juluca, which will be significant given our plans for expansion and residential villa sales. Hiring dck as the single best decision I have made in years, and I could not recommend any firm more highly.
