Engineering Development Program
dck worldwide is always looking for top talent within our industry, and part of our approach includes recruiting, hiring, and training new engineers. Our Engineer Development Program (EDP) is designed to provide graduated engineers with an orientation to critical functions through sequential assignments of defined durations and/or exposure to the following areas:

  • Estimating
  • Preconstruction Services
  • Contract Administration
  • Procurement
  • Scheduling
  • Business Development
  • Job Cost
  • Safety
  • Project Engineering
  • Risk Management
  • Legal
  • Facilities Management
  • Operations
  • LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)

The Program consists of a two-year rotation through these various functions. Each participant in the EDP is assigned a mentor—a person within dck who can counsel and assist him/her during and after the Program. Throughout the rotation, the EDP Engineer is assigned to various project sites, ensuring hands-on exposure to various types of project delivery methods and career paths. The goal of the Program is to educate and expose EDP Engineers in the various functions of a full-service construction organization, providing them with valuable hands-on work experience and helping them to begin to develop particular areas of interest or career paths.

dck worldwide staff attends approximately 15 public and private college recruiting fairs across the country to meet potential candidates for the EDP and summer internship and CO-OP opportunities. The type of degrees we are typically recruiting for are: Engineering (Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical), Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Information Technology, and Accounting.
