This new 1,100-room hospital offers a wide range of medical services to an estimated 25,000 patients in a 46,400-square-mile section of interior Alaska.

MARKET > Healthcare NAME: Hawaii State Veteran’s Home LOCATION: Hilo, HI OWNER: State of Hawaii Hawaii Health Systems Corporation Provided design-assist construction of the first veteran's home in the State of Hawaii that includes a medical facility, administration building, and associated infrastructure. Phase I involved the abatement and demolition of four existing buildings (old Hilo Hospital). Phase II was the construction of a new three level, 95-bed, assisted living medical facility for veterans with 59,000 sf of interior floor space. This project received a Design-Build/Design-Assist Award of Excellence from the GCA of Hawaii.

Murtha Cancer Center, the region’s first and only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center. The structure includes a 1,600 sf first-floor attachment to house radiation treatment equipment. The concrete walls surrounding this attachment range from four to eight-ft thick to ensure the safety of patients, staff members, and the public against radiation exposure.

MARKET > Healthcare NAME: Lee Regional Patient Care LOCATION: Johnstown, PA OWNER: UPMC Lee Regional Hospital General contractor for the construction of the five-story (plus equipment floor), 112,500 sf UPMC Lee Regional Patient Care Facility. This facility, which ties into the existing hospital, includes an emergency services department on the first floor, housing four trauma rooms, exam rooms, CT scan rooms, X-Ray rooms, and Observation rooms. The other floors contain labor delivery/recovery rooms, patient rooms, c-section rooms, a nursery, orthopedics and rehabilitation areas, patient rooms, a physical therapy department, and dining/recreation area. The top two floors were constructed as a shell space to accommodate future hospital needs and to house the mechanical equipment.
