MARKET > Government NAME: Fairfax County Courthouse LOCATION: Fairfax, VA OWNER: County of Fairfax General contractor for the construction of the new five-story, 316,000 sf courthouse along with renovations of nine of the existing courtrooms in the Jennings Judicial Center building that total 230,000 sf. The new building provides 14 new courtrooms plus two additional shell spaces for future conversion. Our work includes selective demolition, site utilities, earthwork, landscaping, concrete, masonry, structural and miscellaneous steel, and interior finishes, to name a few. The existing facility remains in operation throughout the construction process – a major challenge with coordinating and interfacing with the city, county, and state officials to ensure that their needs are being met and that safe access to the courthouse and site are available.

Main Street Bridge Replacement mouse over photos to view

MARKET > Bridge & Highway NAME: Main Street Bridge Replacement LOCATION: Columbus, OH OWNER: Ohio Department of Transportation Construction management services for the replacement of the Main Street Bridge in downtown Columbus. The project includes construction of the 692–ft-long, three-span bridge which carries Main Street over the Scioto River. The approximately 500-ft center span is supported by an inclined arch superstructure, constructed of an asymmetrical steel box beam filled with reinforced concrete. From the arch of the bridge hang structural steel “L” brackets and cables, which support a cantilevered post-tensioned concrete deck on one side of the arch for vehicular traffic and a cantilevered deck on the other side for pedestrian traffic.

MARKET > Commercial NAME: Oncology Nursing Society LOCATION: Pittsburgh, PA OWNER: Oncology Nursing Society Provided construction manager/general contractor services for this headquarters office building for the Oncology Nursing Society. The three-story, 110,000 sf structure consists of two buildings connected by a three-story atrium. Based on green building guidelines, the facility includes anodized aluminum curtainwall with blue tinted glass and a cast stone base exterior, raised accessible interior flooring, and ten-ft ceilings with seven-ft-high windows. It also includes parking for up to 400 vehicles.

MARKET > Commercial NAME: PFPC Worldwide Headquarters LOCATION: Wilmington, DE OWNER: PNC Construction manager and general contractor for the 363,000 sf PFPC worldwide headquarters building. The structure features a brick and curtainwall exterior and a four-level, 554-car underground parking garage (two levels underground, and two partially buried into the hillside.) The 113,000 sf of office space was built on top of this. Designed to earn LEED silver certificate recognition, this facility includes various environmental features, including: stormwater management based on EPA Best Mgt. standards water-efficient landscaping optimized energy performance design systems environmental control of materials and resources innovative design technologies
