NAME: Fairfax County Courthouse
LOCATION: Fairfax, VA
OWNER: County of Fairfax
General contractor for the construction of the new five-story, 316,000 sf courthouse along with renovations of nine of the existing courtrooms in the Jennings Judicial Center building that total 230,000 sf. The new building provides 14 new courtrooms plus two additional shell spaces for future conversion. Our work includes selective demolition, site utilities, earthwork, landscaping, concrete, masonry, structural and miscellaneous steel, and interior finishes, to name a few. The existing facility remains in operation throughout the construction process – a major challenge with coordinating and interfacing with the city, county, and state officials to ensure that their needs are being met and that safe access to the courthouse and site are available.
