dck worldwide in a joint venture with GHEMM Co. of Alaska teamed to build a multi-story, 300,000 SF hospital in Fairbanks. This new thirty-two bed hospital replaced the almost 200 beds in the existing hospital facility built in 1953. It reflects a shift from inpatient care to outpatient and ambulatory care for the military, dependent and retiree populations in Alaska. The facility includes health care for internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, family practice, dental care and emergency services. The twenty-five acre Alaska construction site includes fifteen acres of landscaping and parking accommodations for 414 vehicles with engine heater provisions.
