While dck worldwide was in the final two weeks of a previously awarded contract for renovations to the resort, Hurricane Omar struck the Caribbean, resulting in extensive damages to the existing villas, restaurants, spa, back of house buildings, landscaping, infrastructure, and major erosion of the resort’s signature beach. The dck worldwide project team worked closely with the Owner, local contractors, and insurance agencies to quickly assess the damages and establish an immediate restoration, renovation, and repair plan. Despite the insurance adjusters forecast of a minimum six-month closure of the resort, dck worldwide pooled their resources and worked around the clock completing renovations, reworks, and major repairs in just eight weeks, enabling the resort to open for the busy Christmas/New Year’s holiday and winter season.
