Honolulu International Airport New Parking Structure

Project description
  • Client State of Hawaii, DOT-A
  • Services Provided general Construction
  • Location Honolulu, HI
dck worldwide provided building solutions for the State of Hawaii, DOT-A during the construction of a third parking garage between two others at Honolulu International Airport. We were selected based on our improved design that decreased the building footprint but increased the number of stalls by 600 stalls with the addition of more floors. The design provided greater efficiency and gave the State an option for future parking expansion. The eight-level, 580,000 SF parking structure accommodates 1,700 vehicles plus another 100 stalls on an adjacent surface lot. Designed entirely of precast concrete with cast-in-place shear walls, the architectural character compliments the existing airport details by innovatively interpreting them with glazing systems and concrete form patterns.
