This Nevada construction project was a true collaborative effort between all parties—the client, designers, contractor, and subcontractors/suppliers.  An example of the success that can be achieved by utilizing the design-build delivery method, the project achieved all goals and in most cases exceeded expectations.  The 200,000-square-foot, 1,072-bed prison includes 204 cells and eight 96-bed dormitories. It also houses food service, commissary, warehouse, laundry, administration, visitors, medical and intake facilities. dck worldwide worked with architect DLR and provided pre-construction services such as constructability reviews, permit requirement reviews, project budgeting and scheduling. dck worldwide and its team continually came together. From the very beginning, we overcame community involvement challenges and site situations with endangered species, and throughout the project we worked through schedule and budget challenges as a team.
