dck worldwide, with joint venture partner, ECC, completed this electrical infrastructure construction project that delivered vital upgrades to Andersen Air Force Base’s power system through construction of a complete working substation, distribution feeders, and switching stations. The project, which received an Outstanding Rating from the client and a Certificate of Commendation for Safety, involved the replacement of an existing 40/50 MVA substation with a new climate controlled 60/80 substation building to house the new 34.5kV and 13.8 kV switchgears, generator, battery area, emergency eyewash area, storage, transformer enclosures, power factor correction capacitors, mechanical area, and office with bathroom.
